Fewer people may be familiar with the University of Richmond's website dedicated to the transcription of immediate pre-war and wartime Richmond Daily Dispatch: http://dlxs.richmond.edu/d/ddr/
I highly encourage people to read and search these papers on CW units, Battle descriptions, Soldiers Aid Societies, Local Commerce, Runaway ads...etc. These articles are very enlightening!
