OK Gang,

Here's a chance to get an item for use in winter quarters, garrison, or other static posts. Justin Runyon is making mattress ticks and pillows according to the U.S. Sanitary Commission's specs. The mattress tick is made from strong woven ticking, measures flat 84" x 40," has a three button closure on the underside, and regularly sells for $60. Bully Buy price is ony $45!!! The pillow is made from the same material, measures flat 18" x 30," and retails for $25. Bully Buy price is only $15!!! Both items will be stamped with the U.S. Sanitary Commission inspector's mark. The combo can be had for a paltry $60!!! Priority shipping is $6.95. When stuffed with straw, leaves or pine needles you can imagine the soft comfort and warmth. How about waking up refreshed for once! Although not warranted, they have been known to chase away bad dreams. This would be a great item to have for Winter 64 or any other garrison event coming up this winter or spring. Email Justin at j.e.runyon@juno.com to order your today!

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a preservation cause TBA

What fortuitous timing. This saves me from trying to find the Sanitary Commission Specs and allows me to concentrate on sewing an overcoat and learning to knit before Winter'64.

Thanks for the great response so far fellas. Those of you who ordered today will hopefully have your ticks underway by the close of next week. I'll keep you all updated as to shipping times.

When I get paid I'll have to order one.I hate using my haversack for a pillow with my coat as a make-shift pillow cover.

Bully Buy Update:

The response has been overwhelming thus far, which is of course a double edged sword. Today I considered closing down the bully buy for the month of January in order that all participants can have their goods in a timely fashion. Rather than do that, I will simply notify you all of a change in delivery times for anyone ordering after today.

Due chiefly to cloth supply, wait time on any order placed today or after could be longer than originally anticipated. Everyone who has contacted me prior to today will not see a change in my original estimation of shipment, so if you have already ordered, this change does not effect you. This includes W64 participants who will have your orders either shipped you leave for the event, or available for pick-up on site.

Thanks again, if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

No more sleeping with my head on a haversack! This pillow case is superb, and doubles as hold-all if you are carrying a blanket roll or for use inside the knapsack as well. Extra good Justin!!

BULLY BUY UPDATE

The January Bully Buy will close early this month. I will continue to take orders until Midnight tonight.

If you have not paid for your order as yet, I would think about doing that. At the point when all paid orders have been shipped, all unpaid orders will be cancled and the surplus offered to the forum at large for the same Bully Buy sale price.

Looks good to get all outstanding matresses in your hands by the Ides of March. I finished cutting every one about 20 minutes ago.
