Forgive me if this question has already been answered, but I'm thinking about getting a pair of overalls, and I was wondering what would be the most common material to use for overalls? thanks

To name a few. Overalls were a 'working' garment and made from hard-wearing materials accordingly. They were also worn over clothes and not against the skin as they often are today--just a couple of points to consider.
Good Luck,

Actually a period denim would be an appropriate fabric. Also sent you a PM.
