Anyone coming to Colonial Williamsburg should check out the DeWitt Wallace Museum. For a list of their current exhibitions: http://www.history.org/History/museums/dewitt_gallery_current.cfm
This includes "A Child's Eye View" with toys ranging from the 18th-20th centuries and three battleflags captured by Banastre Tarleton (yes Rev War but still, once these go down who knows when we'll see them again).

I live about 4 blocks from there now and can safely say the flags are worth the drive down here.

I can't begin to thank Emanuel and Christopher enough for shining some light on what I have always considered to be the Tidewater's best kept secret. My folks pushed me through the entrance kicking and screaming about twenty years ago and now I have to be pulled out of the place the same way.
If 18th century flags and pottery aren't your thing, and I can't imagine why they wouldn't be, then the textiles, furniture and arms will surely get you through the door... or keep you entranced for hours.
