Hey Guys,
Just a quick note to let folks know that Skip Owens is organizing a company on the CS side for this event. In his "spare" time away from our hobby, Skip currently serves with the US Army in Iraq but plans on being back in the States by summer time. I'm quite sure a lot of you guys know Skip, so if you're interested in participating with the company he's putting together, drop him an email at saltwaterboy01@gmail.com. Thanks....Jerry Stiles

For recent participants in the Glendale/Malvern Hill event, this event will also be on original ground, for the first (if not last) time, with opposing forces doing what the originals did 146 years ago.
What it won't have is as much movement or the amount of ticks.

I am looking really forward to this one, I have not been east since Payne's Farm. Skip always runs a first rate company, which is why I will make the trip. I know this event on original ground is going to be worth my time and gas.

No ticks and not a lot of movement.....can't we definitely get some of the ticks.
Just kidding. Never happier to have been forced to work a bronze Napoleon at Malvern Hill than be chased around the woods by ticks....but maybe next time.

Good question Bill. Right now plans call for 3 CS companies, but it's not set in stone, we could add another. I will command one company, made up primarily of SWB guys, friends, etc and the other is being organized by the North State Rifles and Princess Anne Grays. We will of course work with folks to place them where they feel most comfortable and if there's a large enough core contingent, we'll consider adding another company...Jerry Stiles

Dusty:
I receive a daily groundhog report on Slaughter Pen Farm from our branch network in Fredericksburg. It is kind of like a weather or farm report, just more PETA (people eating tasty animals) ramifications.
Yesterday's sighting were big and humongus!

Ley,
Whistlepig and rice are excellent together, but don't be giving away any ration issue secrets this far in advance. If the looks on the members of Co. I, 47th Virginia's faces were priceless Saturday morning at The Parsonage, just imagine this "upgrade" from hocks and tails.
I say break it to them gently.
