Ok, if CPT Dennis does not mind, I have a few minutes before I have to clean gear, clean house, get to baseball practice.
I would ask if anyone replies to this thread... if you give a thumbs down, give a thumbs up. I aint a writter, so this thread will be to the point. You know, "This Authentic-Thing" is growing, we had over 30 in our ranks, and atleast 10 were recruits. Now, if we either convert or baptise 2, which we will, our numbers will continiue to grow. Going to these types of events is a must, becasue this is were we can show the young recruits "the light"...."you see our way..and now you see thier way...which would you rather be....Am I Tracking?
St Francisville, if you all missed this event, and missed a chance to see this beautiful town, it was your loss. We did have lunch at "The Mag", and it was great. I taught my 12 year old about tipping there. They had Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay and it went good with the shrimp....and the service was good.
The Event: It had not changed much, the scenario changed for the public, and that was ok. The tatical was better than it had been. Gave me a sence of preparing for Pickets Mill.
But most of all we had a fine company, many young recruits, many surprised us in more ways than we had imagined.
Thanks to the Independent Rifles, 32nd Mississippi, and others who made "Our Event" during "This Event".
Pelican Lodge 1861 formed the lodge in an area that was really, really neat... and it was a good thing. Many Brothers attended. Sitting in lodge with Brothers from 5 different states is always a pleasure.
Most of all...if it was not for my nomitation of "Louisiana Reenactor of the Year".......Ross Berkenstock, this weekend would not have been what it was. Thanks Ross!
This weekend was fun, and fun is a good.
