Hi Dan,

I wanted to commend you on such an excellent kit. I've made great progress so far and about to start the button hole fly. I've been at it a little over a week, just working a little each evening and no problems with the pieces or instructions at all.

My hand sewing is definitely getting better after those long leg seams!!! I ended up redoing my first two as I just was not happy with the first try - too loose, so the seam was pulling apart when I pressed them open.

Thanks again for this great opportunity to get one of those first ten kits!

I can't wait to finish them - or at least get to a point to try them on.

Folks - this is a nice kit!!!

Thanks Marc!

Folks, I just dropped the first batch of trouser kits in the mail, they're headed off to eight different states and to Iraq! The sale will continue for another couple of weeks.

It is important to note that while these kits will be permanent offering from our company, this time around the Bully Buy is not just an IPO but is also a sale, and the prices of both kits WILL go up June 1st. So you must act in the next week or so to get the sale price!

Thanks for all of your support folks!

Best,

Dan

I agree whole heartedly with Marc, this kit is fantastic! I haven't had the time to do much of it as I am working on other projects but i am excited for when I complete my trousers!

For those of you thinking about buying this kit:

1. The instructions are great, very clear and to the point and they won’t bog you down with sewing terms if you are new to the craft, and there are plenty of pictures including some of the original trousers.

2. For those of you worried about the complexity of the kit it is not bad at all. Personally I consider trousers to be one of the easier garments to make. There are no sleeves to ease in, or collars to line up or anything that could throw you if you are newer to sewing. If you have the patience to sew the long seams well you should have no problem completing this kit. To put the difficulty on a scale of Dan's current kits I personally would rank the trousers easier than a SA sack, and about the same level as his 4 button jacket.

3. This is a fun project! I really like working with Kersey, as you don’t have to worry about it unraveling and the mule ear pockets are really cool to see when you complete them.

I will have to include my praise for Dan's Trouser Kit as well. I feel very fortunate to have gotten in on the ground floor with this deal. I would highly recommend this Kit to anyone who needs a pair of sky blue Trousers even if you can't sew a stitch find someone who can cause this is great deal.

What is the largest size the trouser kit comes in? I have a (about) 56 in natural waist.

Hi James,

Size 46 (50" waist circumference" is about the largest size in which we can make finished trousers or kits.

What sizes are available at the moment?

Tim (and everyone),

I've been getting a lot of notes concerning availability of sizes and what not. Every kit is made to order. We do not normally stock kits, especially when expensive material is involved. So we can make you one in any size from 32 to 42 or for a little extra 44 and 46. The only limited time offer is the current price, which will only be good until Saturday.

Best,

Dan

Folks,

Just an FYI that the sale is almost at an end. We'll be cutting the last batch on Monday and sending them out, so now is the time to get your order in. After the weekend the price WILL be going up on both of these kits.

Dan

One of those dumb questions but how would the SA trouser kit work for a well really new type sewer(no wise cracks wife-o-mine). I have time standing watch and on airplanes coming in the near and distant future and would think this be a good way to kill time and get ready for next season.

Brian,

Not trying to sell you more product here, but I would recommend the haversack or drawers kit if you're new to constructing garments. My instructions try to break down the step by step process of putting together a garment to its most basic form, but they can't teach you basic stitches and the basic processes to garment construction. Starting small and working upward as your skills develop is honestly the most prudent way to go about it. I would rate the complexity of the SA trouser kit as a 3 out of 5 stars, whereas the haversack and drawers kits are a one out of five, and definitely the better choice for the novice.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Just completed my haversack from the kit, I will say
1) I have a new found respect for any craftsman who does this sort of thing on the regular
2) its just friggin marvelous, the way it came out, and the the directions were darn near flawless

this was my first kit after many years of always buying someone elses work and although I will continue to happily buy someone elses work I think everyone should make something at least once to give them some perspective.
have a good one
