From John Cleveland:

Hey compadres, I think I am among the living again, although a shadow of my former self. Anyhow, the work day is scheduled for Saturday March 13th at 9 am. We will be clearing brush from the cornfield. Please bring chainsaws with sharp chains, axes and any other brush clearing tools you may have. We will try to at least get a good start on the work needed hope to see you all there.

oh and pack a lunch

We have sceduled two more workdays for this event, Apr 24 and May 8. Anyone that wants to give a hand is welcome and appreciated. May 8 will be the build a fence day. So if you have to choose that is when we will need the most help.

Sir,

For the May 8th Day, at what time would the Festivities begin? Should we bring Implements of Destruction and Construction. I just spoke with "Capt Mercury" Pettersburg and i belive he and i will be able to attend.

James,
I believe we will try to start around 9am on the 8th. My guess is that we should not need many tools just strong backs. I am sure we will let folks know if that changes.

Hello,
I'm thinking that the work day for May 8th is still on. Also, this is a good way to bump this to the top.

Just reminder next Saturday is a work day for the Pickett's Mill event. John says this is the day we build the fence. I can let you know we raised just over $2,300.00 via Pay Pal donations for the rail drive. That does not count the moneys John has recieved in the mail.

Anyway we will need everyones help next Saturday. We will meet at the VC. Remember to bring something to drink and possibly lunch.

We have just received news that the place we are getting the fence rails from will not be able to deliver them as planned this Saturday. Appearently the splitter broke before all of them were done. :cry_smile

So now the plan is to build the fence on Saturday May 15th. I hope everyone that was planning to come can adjust their plans accordingly. For those that can't there is still plenty to do and a few of us will be out there this Saturday anyway.
