Notes - The AHEC site contains a winter-quarter grouping of huts, a rifle pit, and an artillery emplacement. Participants are also invited to bring tents, either shelter halves, A-frames, or Sibley tents. The host will provide straw, firewood, water, and sanitation facilities. There is plenty of room for drill, which will be the main order of the day at this event. Drill will be done as per Casey's. This is the place to "shake the rust off" with a larger number of like-minded reenactors than individual reenacting groups are usually able to assemble. The target number of participants is 75-100.

Hmmm, maybe we could bring the ponies to this one?

Jerry,
Yeah, AHEC is horse-friendly. You'd probably have to bring your own hay but there will be plenty of water for the horsies to drink.

Joe,
Nice job setting this up with Mr. Heath. This is a great place to have a COI and it will be a great learning experience. Thanks again.

Art,
Thanks! I look forward to drilling with ALACRITY!

PS
Friends,
I listed the event type as semi-immersive by mistake. The event is being held on a publicly-owned piece of land and we are expected to interact with the public in a non-first person mode, so the only immersive aspect to this event will be our immersion in drill!

Folks,

A question was raised at the recent Potomac Legion meeting as to whether or not non-PL member groups and individuals are invited to attend, and of course they are. If you are interested, note that Joey has yet another email address: beatlefans1@verizon.net Shoot Joey an email if you are interested in attending.

AHEC is a darn nice site, and a good number of you have been attending events there for a while now. I went by there a few days ago, and darned if they haven't built yet another building on the History Trail.
