If you are thinking about proposing an EBUFU event in 2010, post the details here to get the 2010 discussion started. We will determine event folders for this folder at a later date.
Specifically, we are interested in the who, what, when, where and why of the event. Feel free to start your own thread for your event.

I would like to propose the building of Ft. Thompson here at New Madrid. This would be in October. I started a thread earlier about it entitled 'Want to Build a Fort?' This is in the works and I think it will come to fruition. I also think that if it is a bona fide event in the reenacting world that it would be a positive factor in having the event finalized on this end.

The Hard Case Boys will be hosting a LH at Raymond, MS the first weekend of May. We're talking about at least one Federal Company and one Confederate Company. The senerio is a toss-up between a few ideas. We will be having a meeting at the end of this month to work out a few more details. It will take place on some of the same land used in the past larger scale Raymond events. The remaining funds after rations cost will go to the Friends of Raymond who are actively aquiring more of the original battlefield.
Feel free to contact me for more information.

Mar Your calendars for March 2010
Most of the primary individuals who were instrumental in coordinating the previous events at the Land Between the Lakes site, have begun planning for a return to this great area.
The previous event which saw the Federals commanded by Steve Acker against the Confederates commanded by John Duffer, used an area approximately 5,000 square acres in size.
For the event in march of 2010, we are looking at 28,000 acres to play with.
We are looking at the activities of the advancing units as Sherman began his move from Chattanooga towards Atlanta, and the numerous smaller engagements that took place in the Spring of 1864 in the N. Ga area as his move towards Atlanta began.
Event Date: March 2010 (Exact dates to be determined, once final coordination with the park service is accomplished)

Sponsor/Host: Independence Mess (The same folks who were part of the MOOCOWS who hosted the previous LBL events)

Nice thread. Keep in mind 9-11 April 2010 has something mighty fine in central Virginia. Folks in the know already have a mighty big clue as to just what that is.

We will be doing an event in Jonesville VA on the original battlefield sometime around April or July of 2010.April looks to be a better month but July works for us also.We would like to keep everyone's schedule in mind.It iwll be somewhat similar to the race to Knoxville event coming up next weekend. It will be a tactical style event, aiming to re-create the Battle of Jonesville. We would like only the best and most authentic guys possible there. The only scrpted part of the event will be that the Confederate Forces will attack the Federal Position atop a large hill on Sunday. We have a nice little chunck if land to play around with.We may be able to construct some earthworks, etc. This looks have some real potential.Anyone that would like can PM me here or email me at ssturgill0@gmail.com for further questions.

The event scenario will be the vote for secession; in Texas, the vote to seceed was put to the public in a gesture than actually meaning anything. However, this will set the stage for the home front events planned for the 150th cycle in Texas.

Not to leave the marvelous month of March 2010 out of this, but look foward to some all too rarely seen history (OMG) on 900 wonderful acres of actual battlefield land during the weekend of 26-28 March 2010. This site hasn't been abused in a while, and is conveniently located to interstates and major arterials in ever popular Southside, Virginia.
Just sayin'.
