Greetings Everyone:

Well, it is the 20th of the month. So, the question is, "Do You Wanna Be on the October Cover of the Authentic Campaigner?"

We are looking for images that best-exemplify the look of the authentic living historian. Images taken with period technology only are required (wet plate, pencil drawing, field sketches, etc.) Please refrain from submitting an image that you have submitted within the last year. We are looking for new images and have a few days to gather the candidates. Let's keep things fresh. Thanks!

Submission Guidelines:

1) We will accept the first ten image submissions only. The thread will be closed after the tenth image is submitted, and any images submitted after the tenth will be deleted from the thread.

2) Once we have ten images, the staff will select the final three. The final three will then be put up for a general vote to the membership of the forum. The winning image will be placed on the front "cover" of the web site for one month.

3) Make sure and attach the photo to your post. If necessary, we will crop the photo for the best fit.

4) The Moderators/Administrators reserve the right to remove any submittals that they feel don't meet the standards of the Authentic Campaigner.

Now, let's see your best images!<!-- sig --><!-- sig --><!-- sig -->

This image taken at Richmond, KY 2008. You may recognize the subject, Wendell Decker, the photographer was 10 yr. old Sarah Burns. Wendell may be better able to describe what went on behind the scenes.

Kind regards,

And we have our ten images. Thanks to everyone who submitted this month. We will now take these ten to the AC Focus Group and narrow the choices down to the final three for the general vote.

A reminder to everyone that next month, on October 20th, we will be accepting images to honor the modern military for Veteran's Day in November. You can submit an image that mixes your Civil War impression with your modern military uniform. Jake Nott submitted an image a couple of months ago that inspired the idea for the Verteran's Day cover. It can be found by clicking here (http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=10936&d=1216590751).

Thanks again everyone. We should have the cover up for the general vote in the next few days. This thread is officially closed.
