Hello all,
I found this webite that has tons of mid-19th cent. primary source documents that we all might find useful...letters, photographs, legal docs, newspapers, business directories, agricultural docs, etc. Many of the sources are available free (in miniature) or you can purchase cd-roms. Check it out:

*As a tip... if you want to view the minis (without killing your eyes) right-click on the website viewer image, then "save image as", save it as a pdf file, (you may need to save it in a photoshop type program first, then convert to pdf). Then you can zoom in/out so that it is readable. The image quality isn't great, but then again no need for anyone to be re-publishing this stuff and getting into copyright trouble anyways.
Happy hunting!
