I just won this old flask on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&Item=310108372514

I jumped on it because it looked like a neat old flask (though I doubt its "Civil War" provenance - but if I'm wrong, please correct me), and it looks repairable for a "user" rather than a "collectible", and the price didn't seem too bad (especially considering what I've seen "collector grade" flasks going for!)

Does anybody recognize this flask? And what would be the best way to NEATLY repair the split seam so it can be used again?

An original powderflask I have was repaired with lead sodder. It seems to have been a postwar repair, but works very well.So that may help some.If you wish to use it,be careful.
