I'm leaving West Texas at 7am or so on Sunday...plan on arriving onsite with three others at around 7 or 8p Sunday evening. I'm just wondering when everyone else is heading that way.
I've been doing the Mitch Critel pre-event ritual in preparation for the event. This entails: eating fettucini alfredo for all four meals everyday for the week leading up to the event, drinking nothing but energy drinks with a condensed milk chaser, and watching the Blue and the Gray everynight before bed to get me ready.
I suggest everyone else do the same....especially the Blue and the Gray marathon, it'll prepare those of ya'll who didn't make BGR for what you are about to witness firsthand in Kisatchie.

Personally, I'm leaving about 5:00 a.m. Sunday and the first contingent of Taters plans to be on site around 7-8:00 sunday night.
We love getting to an event a day early and get dressed out. This way when the event steps-off, you look more settled and like you have been on campaign instead of unfolding the jacket and just stepped out of the car.

Airborne on Monday afternoon and arriving late Monday evening... I'll waltz into camp with my lantern in-hand.
From the looks of the weather, I'll be wearing my oilskin too. Only for good measure, though...
All the best- Johnny Lloyd:wink_smil

About midnight Friday. Depends on when Caleb, Will, Rob and Billy arrive at The Bunker. As we drive through the rump of the People's National Socialist Republic of Maryland, God's Country (both Virgininias), and some other states we'll be sadly pointing to the sides of the road saying "XYZ lives about here, but he's a sweet little stay at home man." Chuckles will follow. Oh, you know it, but someone has to populate those Wooly Worm Fests and Tractor Pulls with Encampments & Skirmishes.
I remember an "event" where it rained for three weeks straight. Uncle Sam provided us with some fine raingear courtesy of some CIF somewhere. That poncho was simply outstanding for a good 20 minutes.
Time to bank some sleep. Later.

I have been down there since Terry called me to tell me the impression was going to be 24th Iowa. That was 2007.
Can't wait to see you and all my friends from the far west!

Let's see. The event goes live at first light Monday. I guess I need to head out about 5 Monday am. No, that's not true. Baker is bringing the hogs down from Arkansas in the back of his truck and we will be busy slaughtering and preparing this week-end so you boys will have something to eat.

Tom,
You could cause quite a panic without some clarification about your statement.
I hope you mean that the event goes live Tuesday and you will be onsite Monday.

Oh, yeah. The event goes live at first light Tuesday. Sorry for the confusion. I do have a hard time telling Mondays from anyother day 'cause they are all about the same to me. But for the time challenged: the event goes live at first light TUESDAY! So, that gives Fred and I an extra day to slaughter the hogs and prepare the meat.

I'll be leaving Atlanta Sunday evening, and should arrive in LA sometime Monday morning.
Exact specifics are dependant upon the completion time of my two papers due this week (damn college!)

On Sunday Lil Jon, Ludacris and the Crunk Teleporter will be transporting the Near the ATL Crew (Kiev, Jordan, Lewis, and the OCN) out towards Loo-Z-Anna. Somewhere we will high five Hicks and Smotherman and moon Gribble. We should roll into the club (Bayou Yeti Land) sometime on Monday before dark. Not as kewl as Mobely's Stabb'n Horse transportation, but it will suffice.
That's how we roll in Jeeorgia.

Pete,
That's okay. We love you up here in Yankeeland. The current last minute panic project is sewing on Will's chevrons, as he is having a sack coat kit lining wardrobe malfunction up in the Quahog Nation. This is no doubt due to a lack of BBQ.

We're flying out from Heathrow at 10.45 GMT Sunday arrive at DFW around 16.00 (wow - time travelling!) and stopping the night at Nagadish (did I get the pronunciation right?)
Pre-event nerves now jangling. Last six mile hike yesterday for prep.
Must find a Drugstore in LA, cos no Chemists over here stock anti-Bayou Yeti spray or rattlesnake serum.
My only other problems are how to fit a drinks cooler and a camp chair in a blanket roll.
Yours,
Confused of Bedford.

Boys,
Don't worry about a cooler and beer. I'll bring a keg or two from my uncle's liquor store. Since I'll be in the "European Company", we'll take turns rolling it in front of us. And some kegs make nice camp chairs, too...
I'll be heading out in about 12 hours. Three or four battlefields will be visited on this 20-something hour trip. Too excited to sleep....
