Anyone going to be flying into Atlanta airport and wouldn't mind spliting a rental car?

Huck, dropped you a line on the topic.
I imagine there maybe a number of us considering travle into Atlanta, would we be able to spark enough interest in getting a few together for a van to get back and forth?

Thad/Huck, Im all for splitting a rental car upon arrival at Atlanta airport. Although my plans aren't final, I will be flying down. For me, the drive from Niagara Falls would be way too much. And unless you men have other plans for cleaning, showering and/or bathing, I was thinkin bout maybe splitting the cost of a hotel room. But if there is a cheaper/free alternative to cleaning up, Im in! Fell free to drop me some info. Im sure there will be more men in the same boat.

Psst... There are showers on site that you can use....... They are located not far from the registration area and parking area.

On site!? Perfect! Will they be available? I know scout camps tend to close down operations when the camp is not in use, well at least up here anyways. That is indeed some good news.

I'm coming up from Jacksonville FL on Thursday and I should have room for one person. I'm bringing my sutlery so it will be a tight fit in the Explorer but if you don't mind a tight fit you are welcome to share the ride with me.

Virginians,
There are two in Richmond heading to the Valley to pick me up. We will make our plans on Sunday afternoon. I live at a crossroads in the Valley "64" and "81". It is a great meeting place for caravan or carpool.

Pete - I'm interested - I could perhaps drive down to Richmond to park there & ride with them - but it all depends on when they leave & when they plan to head back - when you have a plan in placed after you discuss it this Sunday, please let me know what you decided.
Thanks -
Cheers,

Im flying out Sunday evening. I thought about seeing the sites for a day, but the cost of airline tickets for Monday departure are double, almost triple in price.
I know the site is about two hours south of the city, what time is everyone thinking they need to leave the site to make it back to the airport?

2 hours!? You sure about that? In my mind, 60 or so miles would be an hour, maybe a little more.

Obviously you've never traveled around Atlanta and seen the wonders of the Georgia D.O.T.
The interstates around Atlanta which is a choke point for I 75, I 20 and I 85 are always under some state of repair/disrepair. Just plan ahead to give yourself time to get from the airport to the Heart of Darkness that is Bummers.
Taking state roads is always a good altenative.

Heck, I'll just drive down there myself - but if anyone in Northern VA or southern Maryland needs a ride, drop me a PM & we'll sort it out. You don't even need to drive - I'll do that. I just need someone along to share expenses & keep me from falling asleep! I would leave Friday morning around 8 a.m. and come back Sunday around noon.

Virginians,
I apologize not for getting back sooner. It seems that we will be unable to offer anyone a ride. I pray that all will get there in good spirits and in a timely fashion. Again, I apolgized for not posting earlier. Life gets busy at time.

Still looking for someone to either split a rental car or if anyone has an empty seat and they will be traveling through the area of the airport, that'd be good too. I will only have a carry on bag with some toiletries and clothes for the trip back, all my other gear is hitching a ride. I will be landing at 1040am on US Airway flight 1423. If anyone is landing at the same time, or has a seat empty in their vehicle, feel free to pm me or send me an email: unionprivate@verizon.net
Thanks!

Mike-
Got in contact with Jeremy and he says he is still coming with us. That makes 3 people in the vehicle with me being the 4th. If you are at the airport when we are (I arrive at about 12 noon-ish) and if we have the room, look us up. I'll be glad to try to squeeze you in. PM me for my cell number and I'll have it on while I'm in the airport.
It is my intent that we should take with us as many wayward souls as we can fit in a vehicle that need transportation to the event site. ;)
Thanks- Johnny
