Just in case utilizing an original Civil War era Fort with a unique impression is not enough we have lots of things in the works to make this an even more quality and memorable event. I’ll provide some more details with these soon as I can.

The 30th Michigan Infantry was raised in December of 1864 to help protect Michigan from Rebel raiders in Canada. They were mustered into Federal service in January 1865 for a 12 month enlistment. The Regiment’s company’s served all over Michigan including Fort Gratiot, St. Clair, Wyandotte, Jackson, Fenton, and Detroit. The Regiment was mustered out on June 30th, 1865.
This will be a unique opportunity to take hold of a post war, waiting to go home, never saw the elephant impression. You will be sleeping, eating, marching, drilling, and conversing right where the original boys of the 30th Michigan did exactly 145 years ago. This is Michigan’s original ground and we will be working in a preservation twist with the event to help this historical gem out.

Well - Greg beat me by a bit, but I've finally done it. I'm registered for Disaffected!

Hope more of you get signed up! I've seen a lot of sites in my days, this Fort is one of the good ones! Jeremy and the gang have got to have some good stuff up for us.

Best to all,

Will

I want to clarify some things in the event guidelines.

All of the uniform and equipment guidelines listed are based on 30th Michigan research or general assumptions on what most likley was issued at that time.

It states to bring your sack coat and frock coat. This is to stay with historical accuracy of the 30th Michigan. However, like any piece of gear do not let not having a frock coat stop you from coming to the event.

Any questions on the event drop me a line.

If the baby's not sick, the bills are paid up, and all is right in the world, I'll be there. Oh, and stick forts must be prohibited. These boys go south, west, AND east, and deserve our support. Keep me posted on civilian roles, if any. I'd make a good Copperhead.
