This is just an update from previous postings regarding the housing and registrations for civlians.

As of today,8/25/09, there is no housing space available for additional women and children civilians. We could accomodate 2 or 3 additional gentlemen if they want to apply immediately!!

And again impress on everyone, there are absolutely NO WALK ONS for this event.
Due to insurance purposes of the college who owns the park they must have names of ALL attendees prior to the event.

The men had better be old/not of military age.

This event is about closed on all fronts.

With fall coming early here in Iowa, I am hoping for snow by October.

Can you give any details about the flop house? Does it have roaches or rats? Are there any flop women in there? Does the rent include meals? How much does it cost?

Gray Summit is a respectable village. There's no flop house; but some of the gentlemen who are unaccompanied by ladies sleep in the Carpenter's Shop. I believe Vivian was saying that there is a little more room for a few gents who are willing to sleep on pallets or bed rolls.

As Holler says, any gentlemen interested in attending as civilians should be beyond the age of military service.

We do have to be careful about filling the houses; there are limits to the number of folks we're allowed to house in these historic structures. Also, we have to submit a list of participants to the university ahead of time, for insurance reasons.

Please, folks, try to understand -- we absolutely are not allowed to accommodate walk-ons. This is a University regulation. I've been hearing about people who want to come to LT as civilians; if you know someone who wants to attend, and if said person is a gentleman of non-military age, then please have him get in touch with Vivian or with me. Thank you for understanding.

Annette...I agree! No snow please. Although it is very pretty when a soft snow falls in the village :) A beautiful autumn day, with the leaves beginning to turn and the sun shining brightly, is in order!!

No flop house ! What would make you think that our wonderful small village would allow such!! Respectable men of a very mature age only are allowed ;)

Why, Ma'am, you just hunch your shoulders, and mutter under your breath.
(Ladies might just sigh in exasperation at God's ill humors ~ I hope this is
not too blasphemous!)
Then, slowly, yer blood thickens, and you shiver some less. But it takes
a few months.
