To make a long story short, after a month+ of discussion and waiting, the person who was supposed to provide me a pattern for the Chausseur style trousers issued by the Schuylkill Arsenal...
Can anyone point me to this pattern or someone to make me a pair (or even photos...)

Here's a photo:

I'm not sure if this is Chaucer, but I think this is one of the illustrations from Chaucer's, Canterbury Tales.

Sorry...I just had to do it... :tounge_sm

I think you mean Chausseur trousers and I don't know anyone who has a proper pattern. Charlie Childs is probably your best bet for a starting point if you have questions.

Hmmmmmm......

I think you mean "chasseur". And I don't know offhand if S.A. had a singular pattern for those or any other 'specialty' trowsers/pantaloons they produced...

I would suggest contacting County Cloth.... www.crchilds.com

If I am not mistaken, S.A. made chausser jackets. If I am correct, it stands to reason that they made pants as well. Then again I am not really "up" on chausser and zouave uniforms.

Check out the Zouave Database at http://www.geocities.com/zouavedatabase/ and maybe email the webmaster, Shaun Grenan, for questions. He lives for Zouaves, and might be able to help you on the Chaussuer pants.

Robert,

The SA did make chasseur uniforms but there wasn't one official chasseur uniform pattern. Surviving examples have a good deal of variation down to the unit level.
