Greetings!

Can anyone help me out with this one, not sure if this is the right place to ask this one so please move accordingly.
I was just wondering if anyone out there owns or has examined the 1861 Springfields made be Pedersoli. What are they like and how do they compare to the originals.
I've tried searching for this information but havent been able to find anything. The only info I have been able to find was on a shooting forum where one fellow mentioned he was pleased with the way his shoots and its reliabilty. No mention of its authenticity etc.

Has anyone out there been able to do a comparison of Pedersoli's product to originals? If so how much defarbing is needed?

Any and all help would be most welcome.

Hallo!

IMHO...

Any of the archived discussions on the Italian reproduction M1861's will serve as a start.

Pedersoli is one of the Italian repro makers. What they do differently is generally manufacture and assemble their parts with a little more Quality Control than do the others.
So, NUG, one receives a similar product just done to a slightly higher set of QC in the fit, finish, metal treatment, etc., and pays a higher purchase price than similar products made to keep the rising prices lower.

Some lads believe what they get is worth the added cost, others do not.

In the end... any of the archived discussions on the Italian reproduction
M1861's will serve as a start because they are universal.

Others' mileage will vary...

Thanks for that Curt, I've read many of the threads on this subject but none seemed to mention Pedersoli products.
I've been thinking of buying a Springfield for some time and am trying to find which reproduction might be most cost effective compared to finish and reliability. I doubt I will be getting an Armisport one as I've read too many comments regarding their rate of misfire. I have seen a second hand Euroarms for sale for about £350. I would really like an original but living in the UK I doubt that will ever happen, never seen one for sale over here and havent met anyone who owns one.
Does anyone else have any comments on this subject?
