Friends,

I have two more items I'd like to send to a good home and then I'll have to start sewing to replenish my uniforms and gear. Terms of sale are below the descriptions. If you want or need additional photos please do not hesitate to ask.

No. 1. Alvin Rose Contract Fed. Issue Trousers made by myself using a modified J.T. Martin pattern and using a piece of old FHW sky blue kersey. The kersey is vibrant and has a pronounced weave with a light finish. The linings, facings, and pockets are made from cotton drill with a brown polished cotton button-side fly facing and a muslin watch pocket bag. Ties are sewn to the interior waistband lining. The unique horizontal pockets (and their asymmetrical placement) were taken from an original pair of Rose contract trousers in a private collection; similar pockets have been observed on a number of original trousers as well as photographs of Federal dead at Gettysburg. Rose produced 395,000 pairs of foot trousers during the war. These trousers are size 38" waist with a generous 35" inseam. Worn for two days this past weekend; very, very slight soiling on the right knee and the crotch seams have been re-sewn by hand with waxed linen thread for reinforcement. Brand new otherwise. Asking $175.

No. 2. Knit Wool Shirt made by myself using a cream colored double-knit wool. Simple square pattern with fitted sleeves and armscye, collarless, lapped slit opening and vented cuffs. Original glass buttons with corresponding thread loops at the slit opening and cuffs. Machine sewn and felled. I made this shirt about 6 years ago; it's seen some service and has some soiling around the cuffs and neck opening but no rips or tears. Some stitching has broken at the neck opening that I will repair. This shirt will best fit up to a 40" chest. ON HOLD PENDING PAYMENT.

Terms of Sale: If you have any questions about either item please contact me via PM here on the forums. Items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. I accept money orders or you can contact me for additional payment options.

Thanks again!
