Yes I did notice this. Its a good feature to have.
Hope it comes back soon. Can you add an applet that shows what events are coming up soonest? Perhaps even with an event website if there is one? (National events or just the events in the event discussion forum) It would help because you could just glance at the AC homepage and see...

Hey Paul - a great feature but maybe next year on April 8 it will say something about the Battle of Mansfield, the last major CS victory of the war instead of Beauregard's Army continues it's retreat from Shiloh or some such... suppose I need to talk to the folks who decide what goes each day.
