WELL,
Today is Christmas and as usuall a very good day.
I recieved a picture of my Relative Frank Stebbins. ( All Stebbins' are relatied through one man, complecated geanology :confused: )
Anyhow,
This picture is very interesting.
It is his picture, He is about 15,16,17 and we would think 1861 becuase of the Hair Cut ( aswell as from Maine or New England {Thanks: EBurke} )
It is in something I have never seen before, it seems to be an army issue " photograph holder" It has a circle for the photo inside and around it a band of ribbon with 13 stars and 13 X's. At the top is an Eagle and at the Bottom are a cannon and something else. On the Back (which is where it is signed "Frank Stebbins" [ Very Beatiful Script ] ) it is folded over and licked ( dried water marks around area ).
It has a bit of a tan in some areas ( or a dis-tan ) and I keep it in a very safe place to keep it preserved!

PS: The picture certainly gives detail about hair and dress (even from the little circle that is shown)
*NOTE: I have been Told it is a Carte de Visite By many people now so I am assuming it is!
