Greetings all,

I'm trying to see if there would be any interest in recreating part of the federal march up to gettysburg for the 150th. I'm currently looking at either starting in Union Mills homestead and following part of the 5th Corps route, or looking at starting in Taneytown ,Md and following that route. Just trying to get a sense of the interest level.

Chris,

I don't have any details at all, but you might want to contact Joe Bordanaro (a member here). He and Doug Dobbs did a 100+ mile march several years ago from Virginia to Gettysburg, and I believe that Joe is planning something similar for 2013.

Take care,
Tom Craig

It was done for the 145th and will be done for the 150th, email me b.martin983@yahoo.com and I'll put you contact with the folks in charge.

Have made 3 marches over the years along the 2nd Corps route, from 8 to 22 miles. With a little planning, talking to landowners, etc, you can have a great time, be true to the route and still march less traveled roads, while not killing yourself and using up your vacation time. James Owens was the organizer for these. PM me for his contact info.
