These were taken purely to research the uniforms and equipment of South Carolinian enlisted infantrymen/volunteers.

The first series shows uniforms and equipment.

The second part shows period photographs of soldiers, along with some background.

If you have trouble reading some of the descriptions, just ask me. I know the pictures aren't of the highest quality, but they have definitely given me some ideas on how to improve my impression.

Always good to see the real stuff. The mannequin dressed up with all the gear really helps to visualize too.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Point of interest: Battle of Bentonville was in 1865 not 1862. Our historical society has a couple of those snafus too.
