Do you have a specific question?
Maybe I can help. You might also check the Search function as others have asked about this system.

I understand the reputation system, now, after doing a search. And I simply threw the LOTR question out for cogitation. I can see it was not a wise thing to do.
Thank you--

Folks - try not to get bent out of shape about what someone says on your reputation. It's meant to be a lot like the ebay feedback feature but with our system, the longer someone has been around, and the better their own reputation is, the more they affect your reputation - positively and negatively. Nate the Newbie might give you negative feedback but only affect your score by -1 (or even 0 if he has left then 50 posts) whereas a guy like Curt Schmidt with 40 some reputation points of his own might give you postive feedback and give you a +4.
If you get a negative reputation from someone, don't let it get under your skin. People are gonna agree/disagree with you... all our reputations and their associated comments are going to flux. It isn't a perfect system but if you stand away from your own reputation a second and look at that of Chris Daley, Curt Schmidt, Ryan Weddle, etc etc... you'll note that all the guys that are contributing are the guys getting the big reputation scores. It IS working folks... I know its hard to see it in the micro-view, but as an administrator, I can tell you IT IS working.
Hey I got a negative reputation today as well. I haven't fired anybody or locked anybody out. Don't sweat the little things folks.
I can understand if you're a seller/vendor that it might be a bigger deal then if you're just Joe Schmoe reenactor.
