Suggestions for Authentic Gettysburg Events?

Hi Everyone!

I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions for some good civilian events in the Gettysburg area. I moved to Pennsylvania a year ago, and have finally purged my closet of all my horrible early stuff. What I have now is really good (both working- and middle-class), so I'd like to start participating in some events with the same mind-set.

I'm not sure if I want to join a particular group right away, and I would like to make only a few commitments throughout the year. Thus, I'm more interested in events that will accept individual registrations.

Does anybody have any suggestions for events? Summer, fall, winter, and spring event suggestions would be wonderful.

I have been very interested in organizing an event in Gettysburg. There is so much amazing history on the civilian side and it would be great to have an event to showcase that. I am a student at Gettysburg College and have been trying to figure out a location or venue that we could use. I would be more than happy to help out as this is something that I have been thinking about for a while.
