I'm compliling a unit history which may turn into a book about the 38th NCT. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the unit such as diary entries, letters or any other general info which i may used for my project?

Much thanks.

Try this source if you haven't done so already:

http://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/summer_1995_the_little_regiment_appendix_a.html

Alas, the regimental books for the 38th NCT have apparently not survived but you might find that some items are extant for units that served in the same brigade as the 38th.

I presume you have also checked with the North Carolina Museum of History?
You might want to talk with these guys (especially Tom Belton):

http://www.dlt.ncssm.edu/lmtm/MuseumHist_bios.htm

Here's the NCMH site with Tom's e-mail:

http://ncmuseumofhistory.org/cnt2.html

Also try the North Carolina State Archives:

http://www.ah.dcr.state.nc.us/sections/archives/arch/default.htm

Also check out the regimental bibliography for the 38th NCT:

http://www.carlisle.army.mil/usamhi/Bibliographies/CivilWarUnitBibliographies/nc_cs/inf/38inf.doc

Here at Purdue we have some of the materials mentioned (including the Southern Historical Society Papers) so, if all else fails, I can probably copy and send some of what you need.
