Glad ya like. That's Eric Tipton's first attempt at "reskinning" the AC. Look for more options/skins/changes in the near future.

Very POST MODERN.

Should entertain the eye as well as the mind. :D

I find it sooooooothing. I'm getting very sleeeeepy......

Aha! This is just part of the "hardcore" plot to Take Over the World, isn't it??!!

Not to be girly, but it's very pretty. :)

I had missed a few days becuse of the begining of the school year (Appalachian State), so I was surprised and very impressed with the new look. Really livens things up a bit. ;)

Eric has done a wonderful job of creating this new skin for the forum and is continuing to work on tweaking it a bit. However if you don't like change and want the old look back you can.

Just go to the bottom of any page with in the site. Located on the lower left corner is a drop down menu. The default is now "Preservation". If you select the arrow located at the end it will allow you to change the skin (appearance) of the forum. Our old skin was called Earthy. This will change the skin of the site during your current visit. If you want to make it permanent you need to go to the User CP and look at the bottom of the edit options page. It allows you to set your own default skin for the forum.

I like the look, but the additional graphics have slowed the file loading times quite a bit - at least for me - and I'm on a cable DSL modem. For me, the pages are loading like they used to when I was on a dial up modem.

I'd opt for speed any day.

Mike,
If it still runs slow after your first visit look at my above post to see how you can change back to the old skin. I think the orginal slow down was so the graphics could be down loaded to your computer. Now that they are there it should return to normal speed.

Howdy:

Good to hear the positive feedback about the appearance. I am going to reduce the file size of the textures a bit to help with the loading speed. Tripp is correct about the cookies. After they load on the first go around, your speed should come back. We'll be working on more skins and will keep this in mind as we get things together.

If anyone notices other quirks, by all means, let me know in this thread and I'll do my best.

Comrades:

I reduced the size of the textures, so that should help. Let me know if that increases the speed a bit. I've also lightened up some of the text on the darker backgrounds. Tripp mentioned that it was hard to see some of the text. I checked it out on a work computer today and saw the same thing.

A work in progress...

I love the look and the speed seems to be up to norm, for me at least...
Great job!

I'm diggin' the new look. I'd been away for a while too, out in Colorado up where the air is rare helping Dad celebrate his retirement with a little vacation, so it kinda caught me off-guard too. Took me a second to realize that the magenta/maroon text now indicates unread items and the dark blue indicates those that have been read. But the graphics and textures look wonderful. Bully job, Eric.
