Comrades:

Would you like to be on the "cover" of the Authentic Campaigner? In our continuing effort to improve the AC, we will begin placing a "cover" on the front page of the web site. We are looking for images that best-exemplify the look of the authentic living historian. Period images (wet plate, etc.) are strongly preferred. Citizen and military images are welcome.

Submission Guidelines:

1) Post your image in this thread. We are looking for "portrait" format images. That is, those images that are taller rather than wider. When finished, it will resemble a magazine cover.
2) We will accept the first five image submissions only. Once we have five submissions, we will put them out for a vote to the membership of the forum and you can vote for your favorite. The poll will be locked after a pre-determined number of days established when the poll is released. The winning image will be placed on the front "cover" of the web site.
3) If you aren't able to get your image into the first vote, you are more than welcome to re-submit it for the next cover. We will be changing them approximately every month.
4) Submissions should be no wider than 400 pixels. If necessary, we will crop the photo for the best fit.
5) The Moderators/Administrators reserve the right to remove any submittals that they feel don't meet the standards of the Authentic Campaigner.

Here you go. Bet you thought you'd get a soldier first.

Miss Thompson is a member of the Winston Free-State.

_________Yet another edit going on here--I can see the electronic copy of a water color of Miss T, and the system says its attached. When I review the message , I can't see the image. Obviously, I'm too foolish to operate this thing, and am sending a separate message to Mr. Tipton.

Here you go Mrs. Lawson. You are all set - Eric

I have a really neat scanned image of an authentic reenactor that I'd like to post (he's a user here but isn't online at the moment)...I hope that is appropriate. If not please notify me....

The image is of Mark Krausz of Company B 36th Illinois, Prodigal Sons Mess.

Thank you!

Comrades:

Barring any feedback from the moderating team, we have our five submissions. Please do not post any more images. I'll get the poll up later today.

Thanks for submitting! Keep your eye out for the poll. We'll ask for submissions again in a few weeks.

Come on Eric...post this stuff in the evening when we can all play. I have no access to images here on my work computer...just data bases and Lotus notes. I cry foul here or smell a fowl...or something like that! I'm just kidding, I will try for the next batch of images and this is a great idea....

Folks:

We may do this a bit differently next time, but for now, we have the needed submissions and will be creating the poll soon to vote for the cover. Thanks to everyone who submitted.

You will have a chance to submit again in a month, so get yer super-duper period images ready for the next go-around in September.
