For sale: Starbuck artillery kepi. Outstanding reproduction of the Pvt. Daniel Morgan of Harts Battery kepi. This was a South Carolina horse artillery unit attached to J.E.B. Stuart's cavalry. The original is shown in EOG CS on page 162 and erroneously labeled "Capt. Morgan", but I suspect the editor must've had a few "Captain Morgan's" since the man was an enlisted man. The original kepi is in the SC Relic Room in Columbia, SC.
The center disc and head band of the cap are dark blue gray English army cloth wool. The body is made of imported English red wool doeskin broadcloth. This is Starbucks usual outstanding quality workmanship. The interior of the cap is lined in off-white osnaburg.
I have worn this kepi on one occasion for a one day event. It is a 7 1/2.
