Gents,
We recently lost a comrade to cancer and would like to make a donation to battlefield preservation in his name. Which battlefield is most in need of help?
It was discussed at our meeting that we would like it to be a battlefield where the 6thNH fought (which at times were in both eastern and western theaters)
Any idea's greatly appreciated.

Well I know that "my state" "VIRGINIA" is so very gifted to have so many battles fought here on our soil. Many battlefields here are in danger of the ever encroaching tide of developers such as Cedar Creek, which is Northern VA. and also down outside of Richmond like Beverdam Creek. These Battlefields and many others have been passed down through families for generations and have avoided being sucked in by the NPS. Some of these like Cedar Creek hold an annual reenactment on the Battlefield and are in dire need of raising money to keep the NPS from taking over. Also personal favorite of mine...The New Market Battlefield of the famed New Market VMI Cadets is always looking for generous supportors. Hope that helps give you a start..and we are all sorry for your loss.

Rob,
I would suggest contacting the CWPT with a list of your unit's engagements and see if they are actively collecting money for a purchase at one of those battlefields.
If this doesn't pan out, might I suggest either the Mansfield or Pickett's Mill rail projects that are happening here on the forums as a place to send your memorial fund.
Thanks for your support and sorry for your lose
