I know this question had been answered but I think it was lost in the crash.
Who makes a good women's paletot pattern? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure others have much more experience and this may not help much, but I recently purchased a lady's paletot pattern from Kay Fig patterns. Unfortunately I have not been able to squeeze in time to actually make it but I have used other patterns from them and they are user friendly. Kay Gnagy, who helped draft this one, assures me it is a very doable (as in one day)project. One nice thing about these patterns is they have lots of documentation and pictures of originals. The web site www.originals-by-kay.com shows it as a research pattern but a real pattern is available.

I'll post again when I get it finished!

Good luck,
Sherry Key.

Just a couple weeks ago we were talking coats, cloaks and shawls elsewhere. I prefer to draft my patterns from original patterns. Check out this site for some 1850’s patterns: http://www.uvm.edu/~hag/godey/fashion/di.html Even if you don’t draft your own pattern, these will give you an idea of what to look for when you are choosing your pattern.
