Paul:
In using the "new post" feature, I see all the new information since my last visit. It is a great way to use the board effeciently. OK, I am a geek.

There's nothing more important than preserving the land on which the brave soldiers fought. After all, none of us would be in this hobby without them.

With the way these hallowed grounds are in danger these days, preservation is very important. On a slightly different note, I'm a search engine junkie! Thank you for all the information archived here....

I think the camp of instruction is very important to helping gain interest in this hobby, and teaching new historians what is correct, and guiding them to the best research. And ultimately leading to more preservation and awareness...

Iwish that more than one choice could be voted for. Since we are all still learning about more than one of these topics I would venture to say most would have at least a one two choice.

Like another poster said... I check the new posts each time...so I can read whatever catches my eye... but I also look for posts that are listed under several folders.
As a Civilian I enjoy the Citizens Authenticity folder the most..
but I also read through the Authenticity Discussions and Camp of Instruction posts to share information I find with my DH and the guys in our unit.
Civil War Preservation always lies high on my list of important posts.
So I too wish we could have picked several

I enjoy learning from all parts of the forum, but Camp of Instruction would be my top choice.
Another vote for scanning the new posts when I and often find myself hitting the search function for info on whatever may be catching my interest/wondering mind at the moment. I do miss several of the old threads lost in the crash.

Ladies & Gentlemen,
I chose 'Civil War Preservation' as the most important folder, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite necessarily. As others have said, I normally scan the new posts first and then, time permitting, peruse further into this wonderful labyrinth. But strictly in terms of importance I'm surprised it's not leading by a country mile.

Paul:
I would agree with you on this one. I picked C.o.I.,but that can vary depending on what is going on in my life relating to reenacting. Yes, still learning, will always be. Next week, I (if I could) might vote another area as 'most important', if I need some new gear, another topic might be first.
Too bad the 'Search' feature wasn't on the list.............

Yours Truly,
I concur, Civil War Preservation is the most important folder. I look at the Buy & Sell, and Authenticity folders a lot too:D .

I agree that the Preservation folder is the most important, but my favorites (assuming I don't click on New Posts) are C of I, and B,S +T. And sometimes the sinks, just for fun.

Civil War Music. I just wish more stuff would be discussed in that folder.

As much as I hate to admit it, I find myself visiting the "Wanting to Sell" folder the most often. That being said, I have recently become enamored with the "Editorial Articles" folder which helps to improve my impression and offers information that you may not find anywhere else. And as always, the "Civil War Preservation" folder is also extremely important.
Thanks for the poll Paul.

While CW preservation is unarguably of great import, this is the A-C site, not CWPT. Gotta go with the events and associated how-did-they/how-can-we discussions.

Well all are a esential for a good fourm I go alot to the Buy sell and trade quite alot. But Preservation would be the most important as I read on another post we would have no fourm if it wasn't for the gallant men who fought before us.

I voted for Camp of Instruction. Being able to learn about what how things were made, what was commonly worn, etc. is a vital step in helping people understand why we are committed to preserving this part of our history.

The authenticity discussion folder is the one I read most. Its a good way to stay "plugged in " when I can't be as active in re-enacting as I would like.

In different ways, they are all equally important. Without the combined support of the others, any one alone would not be as complete.

For me its the Authenticity Discussion. Learning the proper ways of wearing and using your equipment can really help one's impression.

Camp of Instruction followed by Authenticity Discusion.
It helps a great deal to see the new research, interpetations and to hear other reenactors thoughts on how to properly recreate a CW soldier.

I am a fresh fish so The Camp of Instruction is priceless for me. I try to read a entry here every night.
Civil War Preservation is always the first thing I look at and very important to me but I do like looking through the whole site and the Authenticity Discussion is always good reading and shows me how far I have to go on my studies.
I enjoy learning and any day I can learn something new is a good day, and that covers most time I read this site.
Thanks for everything!

I think it is impossible for me to pick one in particular, as it is situational depending on what I am trying to find out. I have to admit the buy/sell/trade is priceless as a unique resource for finding used quality gear.
