I could really use everyone's help in rebuilding our links pages. Please use the Links link at the top in the Navigation Bar, or click here (http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/forum/local_links.php?) and go there and submit some Links.

The categories are pretty straight forward, fill in whatever you can from vendors to preservation sites, event sites, unit web sites, etc. List quality events, vendors, units etc... no farbism.

I'll approve them as quickly as I possibly can.

Paul,

Do you want me to copy the preservation links from the pres. page to this new link area?

Paul,
Would it be possible to add another sub catagory for Museums/archival collections for research?
For example:
Civil War Soldier's and Sailor's System
http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/
and
Civil War Treasures from the New-York Historical Society
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpcoop/nhihtml/cwnyhshome.html

Or would you rather those go under Preservation Sites?

Thanks Matt, got that category added and those links added. Feel free to contribute anything else that you feel is of merit.

Argh!! I just added some links to Articles that might need to be switched to Museums and Archives Research. Feel free to move them around to wherever you would like. I suspect there will need to be some substructure to organize military vs. civilian.

How about a category for uniform, clothing (civilian too) and equipage (including ordnance) research sites.

Paul,

Another category suggestion: Relic Vendors.

These sites usually have detailed photos of original items and are a resource for original items many find useful (such as bayonets).

I still think we should have a separate category for Ebay stuff, good or bad.....

Those ebay links will be broken shortly after the auction is over however.

Paul, I'm not sure what happened, but the web address I tried to put in for the New York Times archives index (under Museums and Archival Collections) didn't load. It says not available. I don't see where I can edit it myself. It should be http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/nytimes/advancedsearch.html
I may have been interrupted and added the entry and forgot to double check that I had added the web address.

Vicki -

The address you have in there is correct, it was taking awhile to load however, perhaps that is why my validater is marking it as broken. I'll keep working on it and try to get it to validate. In the meantime, I'll put the URL in the description so folks can cut and paste if they want to.

Hi Paul,

I posted a link on the articles section for "Notes on the M1854 Canteen"
Should read M1858. Minor correction if you're able to fix it at some point. Sorry for the trouble.

Not a problem John, it's fixed.
