I used the search engine and internet and couldnt find any info. Is there any info. on Union soldiers lining there pants? Perhaps sending them home for it or around winter quarters? Thank You

There was an account of a US soldier that had recieved his new issue and sent them home requesting to his mother to line the trousers as it would give them longer life.
Hope it may be of some help.

I have seen numerous pics of confederates with lined trousers so I don't see any reason that feds would not have lined their trousers.

Scott,
Which photo's were these ? I have only seen one pair of fully lined trousers before and they were in the Relic Room in Columbia SC. Nice trousers constructed of Satinette.
I have seen one or two pair in the MOC which featured the boot cuff, however, they were not fully lined.
Receiving requests for fully lined trousers on a bi-monthly basis, it would be nice for me to have more than one pair to document before reproducing them.

A great majority of the surviving original NC trousers have had linings or evidence there of.

Thank You all who have answered this. I'll line them up to my knees and leave the rest normal.

Scott,
The museum in Columbia is very nice. My personal favorite is the UDC museum in Charleston. It reminds me of the way the MOC was 30 years ago.
Let me know when you dig up the info. The lined trousers is a very popular request.
