Tonite I was able to integrate a chatroom with our website. If you look up in the NAVBAR you should find an option that says Chat (with a small arrow pointing down) ... to join click that arrow and pick one of the options.

The chatroom should pull in your username from this forum - you will not need to reregister.

Experiment with it - it's the best chat option I can find for us right now. We'll try to set up some scheduled chats soon.

My bad here. We actually need to register a channel I understand. It was working last night because we already had the channel open in mIRC but in order to auto-connect and open the channel it has to be registered - which it isn't.

We'll work on finding a permanent server and registering a channel. I'll update you all here when we're ready.

Ok, we now have a registered channel on a stable IRC server so the chat should be fully functional, 24/7. Enjoy.

Paul,

It will not connect when I try it.

Well if you can't get through, might be your network connections, but I'll look into it. The backdoor into the chat is to download mIRC here: http://mirc.com/get.html and once it's installed use the channel setup options to go to

saffron.us.afternet.org 6667 and once you're logged on type /join #acchat

Oh, and make sure you have Java installed. Pat Price tried to load the chatroom the other day and found out he didnt have Java on his new computer. It's pretty much standard on most computer internet browsers, but if the chatroom isn't working for you, that may be the trouble... especially if you've just recently gotten a new computer.

Here's a test to see if Java is working on your computer:

I have JAVA enabled. The error message I get when trying to log in is -

JAVAUSER DTHN Trojan --not real user

Then it has my IP address, name and location.

Ok thats helpful then. Might have to find a new location again.
