Gang,

Here's the deal! This Bully Buy is for something dear to us all - battlefield preservation! Civil War Historian Magazine and I have agreed to team up to help save Civil War battlefields. Every new subscription or renewal will generate funds that will go to save battlefileds. The rate for a one year subscription ( 6 issues ) is $28.95. If you are a new subscriber, half of your annual rate will go to preservation. If you renew/extend your subscription, $5 will go to preservation.

For part of your subscription to go to battlefield preservation YOU MUST ENTER THIS CODE: W07AUT (The numbers between the W and the A are zero and seven). When you subscribe on their page, it will say Website Support Program. ALL of the funds for the Authentic Campaigner website in this program will go to battlefield preservation.

To subscribe go to: Civil War Historian Bully Buy (http://civilwarhistorian.com/thankyoupromo.shtml)

For more info on Civil War Historian Magazine go to: Civil War Historian Magazine (http://www.civilwarhistorian.com)

If you know you'll renew your subscription this year, DO IT NOW and help save our battlefields. If you've never subscribed, this is the premier magazine on our hobby. Check out the link above and I'm sure you'll agree to give it a year subscription. I will post here the battlefields and dollar amounts that we all raise together.

This is just the push I needed to subscribe. Just finished submitting my subscription online. It was very easy. Get a great magazine and help save battlefields all at the same time, it is such a no-brainer.

I agree, this is a great reason to subscribe. I consider myself having been prompted, to have gotten the point.

OK Gang! This is where we are after the first two weeks (March): $261. I'll get a check for April in a few weeks. I want May to be the biggest month yet. If you are going to subscribe or renew EVER, do it with the code in the thread above so I can give more for battlefield preservation. Thanks to everyone who ordered with the code to help battlefield preservation. And just to up the ante here's what I'm going to do personally! I'm going to match everyone of you dollar for dollar. You raise $1000 with your subscriptions, I'll put in $1000. You raise $5000, I'll give $5000 too. Come on, throw down! I'm serious. If you've never subscribed, that means that almost every dollar for your subscription will go to battlefield preservation. Yes, really. And I'm not talking matching just this month. The whole enchilada! I'll match it. Tell your re-enacting friends. Everyone of them. Email them all. Tell your Civil War Roundtable buddies, tell your local historical society, tell your co-workers, your neighbors, tell anyone who will listen. Get your subscriptions in, and use the code. Renewals are good, but new subscriptions generate the most money. OK, you've been challenged. Get off your butts and renew or subscribe! Forward, double-quick, march!

How did we do, gents? Has Historian said how many subscriptions were generated thought the Bully Buy? I subscribed at the end of April and received word that my subscription will begin with the July edition.
Best regards,
Paul Hadley

OK, here's and update and then my feelings. For March and April, I have recieved from Civil War Historian Magazine a total of $280.50. If every subscription was a renewal that is 56 orders. I know some of them were in deed new subscriptions, so the number is more like 50 subscriptions. I'm going to match the $280.50, so the total will be $561.00 to Franklin's Charge. I'm glad to give them this money for battlefield preservation, but I am disappointed in the number of people who took advantage of this offer. We have 4800 members. That means only 1% of you took advantage of the offer. I really think that we have more than 50 members on this forum that subscribe to Civil War Historian Magazine. Maybe people forgot to use the code. Maybe their tracking software doesn't work. Maybe everyone ordered in May which I'm still waiting for results. Maybe no one wants to subscribe to Civil War Historian. Maybe battlefield preservation is not a sufficient inducement to subscribe. Maybe Brian Hicks on the cover of the issue I chose to post on the home page drove people away. I doubt it's any of the above. I think people are just busy and have lives. So I'm going to ask you to get your subscriptions in. If you get the magazine now, they will extend your subscription. You don't have to wait until you get your final issue to renew. Don't forget the code at the top of this thread. Thanks to all who have ordered. You're going to get a great magazine and you're helping preserve a battlefield.

Dropping off the $280.50 from Civil War Historian magazine and my matching check for a total of $561.00 to Franklin's Charge. This will go toward principle for buying the eastern flank of the battlefield. Thanks to everyone who subscribed! If you still want to subscribe, use the code at the top of this thread and more funds will go to the battlefield.

After buying the last year via newsstands, I just subscribed. Get off yer butts, save $$$$ vice buying at the bookstore, and get some dough to preservation in one fell swoop.

Hey Matt,
I subscribed last month and got my first mag this week, very informative and not the usual main stuff out from the others publications. Also for a good cause and well worth it, I'll tell my friends.

I'm an old friend from Tn via Ohio and former 9th Ky member, good to see your still around.

Gang,

Thanks to everyone that subscribed. This program is officially over. Any funds that come in later from Civil War Historian to me will be forwarded to Franklin's charge and will be matched dollar for dollar by me. I do have a grand $14.50 from January 2008, so that will be $29.00 toward preservation.
