Sounds like the latest in a series of superb WIG NPS LH events. Count me in for this one. http://www.nps.gov/archive/peri/battle_intro.htm
Is there room for a federal contingent at this event - am thinking a unit such as the 36th Illinois?

Doug,
I do not see that happening. The WIG effort will strictly be Confederate.

The Van Buren Boys will be there. The First Missouri Brigade at Elkhorn Tavern is our primary LH impression. Undyed jean and Magee and George accoutrements.

Notes: From the WIG newsletter: " We are planning to have 2 companies
for this event. One will portray the 4th Arkansas and the other will portray the
Missouri State Guard. In this battle Van Dorn split his forces and sent half his
men to approach from the north and he led the rest to approach from the south.
This is an event the Battalion has never done and we have the permission of the
NPS to go ahead with it."

Will this be similar to the Chickamauga Living History? No Federals? Is there a website out there we could check out?

Joel,
You can expect a good bit of movement at this living history. While there may be other programs going on, we will be focusing on the Confederate side. The information on registration etc will be available in website form shortly.

I have been posting some Pea Ridge stuff on the mainstream site.....
Here is some more.
From Washington April 19 , 1862
...."The committee, under the resolution of inquiry, are receiving testimony from Pea Ridge, showing incontestably that our dead were not only scalped by the rebel's Indian allies, but another respects outraged. the brains of the wounded, too, being beaten out by clubs, thus confirming the previous newspaper reports."........
