    Wade,
Dont have any pics, but the description of the S Isaac Campbell & Co trousers owned by Maj General William Dorsey Pender are:
"inner facings and pockets are light brown cotton drill"
(A Catalog of Uniforms, available from the MOC)

Since the English imported enlistedman's trousers are on display and are unavailable for close examination, the best you are going to get is looking through the glass. Doesn't exactly allow for making the most accurate reproduction. What can be seen though includes a white drill waistband, heavier white button reenforcements, black adjustment belt reenforcements, and fine brown watch pocket trim. They are also have a "Campbell & Co." stamp, but it is not visible.

Wade, try the Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington. They have Whiting's (or Lamb's) import uniform. I honestly can't remember if the pants are what you are looking for but the CFM might be a good resource.

I don't know the current registrar there, so here is the directors contact info:

Hopefully she will point you in a positive direction.

Yet another issue I would just love to know the truth about. I have no doubt that the S Isaac, Campbell & Co trousers owned by Maj General William Dorsey Pender are made for the job. The enlsted men's a total different thing. It is a great shame that all the companies that made, or had cause to have them made are either long since gone, or have no interest in records that old, and have binned them.

As to the buttons Neill, we can but hope.

    Re: English imported pants

I've been interested in those trousers for awhile and wish there was a more concrete history as to when/from whom they were acquired and if they were intended for wear by enlistedmen. The MOC caltalogue calls them enlistedmen's trousers, and the materials and construction seem to match what we generally assume is a quality fit for issue to the masses (although there are certainly many extant garments ID'd to officers that are of a similar quality). The kersey appears to be a very close match to that used on other garments such as the Goodwin and Redwood trousers, as opposed to the fine bright electric blue broadcloth used on finer garments. I know Neill had posted some info awhile ago about shipments of blue trousers here: http://www.authentic-campaigner.com/...ad.php?t=10339 Could Pender's be one of these? Of course we'll probably never know.

    Hey,

Do you know if the English Import trousers were fairly common on NC troops?
