    White Webbing Baldric

Attached is an image of VMI Cadet C.M. Parkins ca. 1861. The original image resides in the collection of the Winchester-Historical Society, and a digital copy of the image is maintained through the VMI Archives.

The question: Does anyone have a better example of how the bayonet baldric is constructed? It would appear that the leather bayonet scabbard slides down into the webbing and is secured by a single hook/button. My question is more aimed at how the white webbing is folded/sewn.

    Thanks,

    Paul B.
