As we announced a few weeks ago, as the AC has continued to grow - and so have our hosting needs. The cost of our hosting and software has increased exponentially within the last year and vendor fees no longer sustain us.
MEMBERSHIP LEVELS:
Beginning Saturday March 1, we will offer users the ability to subscribe as Charter Members. This is a 2 year subscription service which will grant you increased access and perks for helping to support the AC. This program is only $20, of which $5 will go to supporting Civil War Preservation. We will also offer a one year program for $10 which will provide all the same perks and services, less the preservation donation.
Those who choose not to subscribe immediately will have 30 days before your membership level is affected. Under the new program, non-subscribers will still have posting access to most folders and read-only access in a few folders. This level will also be free of some of the perks we'll be offering to subscribing users.
The idea is to offer a valued added service to subscribers, providing an incentive to subscribe, without stripping the cupboard bare for those who can't or won't subscribe. For a reminder of what the various subscription programs offer, please refer to THIS LINK, where this was spelled out in some detail. As the software changes, we expect to add more services to subscribing members.
SUBSCRIBING:
To subscribe, you'll need to direct your browsers to your User Control Panel and select the option near the bottom for "Paid Subscriptions". Alternately you can follow THIS LINK and it should take you directly there.
