    repro tack

Just got back some great stuff from Duvall Leatherwork. He has always made some great accounterments but I just recieved a single ring halter, headstall, sword belt, holster, and some stuff he repaired for me. The results were great. Quality leather of the appropriate weight, handsewn with the correct number of stitches for the said item, and accurate hardware. Saw some of his Fed. stuff too. All is above average, and some of the best on the market. This is a great plus for cav folks, as of late it has been very hard to find really top flight leather goods and hardware.

    Hello Todd,

Thanks for your post. We in the 1st Maine especially value Nick as he's enthusiastic about developing high-quality federal cavalry accoutrements in association with us. And he walks the walk. We expect you'll be able to cross sabres with him at Unison this year when he joins us in the ranks.

Just recieved two CS halter/bridles from Stuart Lillie saddles and they are great! Excellent leather and stitching. He normally works in the colonial period but has produced some fine 19th century tack as well. His work is some of the best I've seen! No one else out there can do a stuffed panel on a saddle, I am going to have him fit one to my Jenifer, as was done during the war after the first year of production.
We now have two excellent skilled leather workers who use high end leather.

    Nick Duvall

    Hey Youse Guys,
My McClellan saddle and Federal sword belt just came in . They look great ! The Mac had to have all the leather replaced on it and Nick also put on the sewn coat straps . Nick is a very good person to do business with in this hobby. Unlike some in the sutler business, he is easy with to talk and come through as per discussions.

I look forward to riding with you again, Nick.

    Yup..

Nick has my Texas as I type this giving it a much needed overhaul. The man is very easy to discuss things with and I am very much looking foward to working with him to fix my rig up the way I want it. I am hoping this saddlery thing works out for him. That would be a big plus for any mounted guys out there Fed, Confed, or Civilian.
I am anxiously awaiting the finished product and its return. I went all out and overhauled my horses while I was at it..

If anyone gets a chance I would like to see some pictures of his work on saddles and tack.

    Chris,
Why not just email Nick directly. I'm sure he would be more than happy to send you whatever photos you wanted.
