Preservation Efforts at Into the Piney Woods

    All,

It is my pleasure to announce that we've updated the preservation page on the Into the Piney Woods website.

We'll conduct a raffle at the conclusion of the event and have a number of stout items up for grabs.

Additionally, we have the added pleasure of announcing that Dr. Gary Joiner and Steve Mayeux will be on-site to greet us at the conclusion of the event. You'll find books from both gentlemen on our suggested reading list. Bring your personal copy to be autographed or purchase one at the event.

Registrations are flowing in steadily- keep them coming!

    Kind regards,
    Fred Baker

    William,

We will attempt to pass the "Lafayette provision" which allows for French participants to win one or more of the items up for grabs.

I'll warn everyone that the Bayou Yeti found someone's wallet at BGR and will likely attempt to weigh in on the raffle.

    Regards,
    Fred Baker

Merci Fred for all these delicate attentions and if you see our friend Bayou Yeti, do not forget to say to him that I like him, that the miserable bad boys stay English even if there is an improvement since 1905 and the "Entente cordiale" it is true

Re: Preservation Efforts at Into the Piney Woods

    All,

I wanted to update another excellent item which has been graciously offered up for the preservation efforts at Into the Piney Woods.

The Rev. Doctor Pat Landrum, trouser king of Mississippi has generously offered a pair of CS enlisted trousers to be added to the already stout list of quality items up for grabs.

Pat makes darned fine britches and the chance to win a pair at the conclusion of the event is no doubt sufficient reason to prompt 10 men to register just this evening.

In all seriousness- thanks to Pat, as well as to all the other great folks who have given of their time and services to assist this event. In these economic times such generosity is humbling.

Registrations are flowing in via email and snail-mail. Tom and I are stoked up to see so many hardy men coming from near and far for Piney Woods.

As Senator Holler said in another thread- you don't want to be in the group of guys who missed the event and wished they'd have been there.

    Kind regards,
    Fred Baker

Just some questions Fred for Preservation Efforts tombola, they are unit ticket? Books of tickets? They have a fixed price? We can make a donation for the Preservation Efforts besides tickets? Their sale is just before the camp? We can make that before by Internet?

    William and all,

Good questions. I'm en route to a muster in Kisatchie and will get info up on this pending my return.

    Cordially,
    Fred Baker
