You might also go to Google Books and look for DeBow's Revue. There is some in there, but you will need to sort through the books that site them as references.

Also, don't forget plain old Google News. It includes both paid and free newspapers, and the machine-read indexing is horrible, but there's sometimes good stuff free. Here's the search results for 1862 articles with the keyword Shiloh:

Anybody know of a free online source for the Richmond Whig in the antebellum period? It and a lot of other newspapers are available at www.genealogybank.com, and I may just need to break down and get a subscription, but if it's free somewhere...
