65th GA. Inf flag donated to museum

Found this on another site (link below). Great interest to me since my gg grandfather was in that unit. Apparently the flag has been in private hands for over 140 years. The owner recently donated it to the Southern Museum of History in Kennesaw, GA.

    Hey Jerry,

We talked about this at Fort Wayne a couple weeks ago. Aimee, Gene Harmon's wife works at the Southern and has seen it close up... of course we were all jealous.

Bobby, I didn't realize Aimee worked there...very cool and looking forward to seeing it in person. I'm amazed at what is still out there to be discovered.

Thanks for the update. There is probably more work involved in preserving its condition than we realize.
