    Chasseurs Pack

I was recently in Atlanta History Center achives and saw a knapsack that was originally issued to one of these units:
    62nd Pennsylvania
    83rd Pennsylvania
    18th Massachusetts

It was a cow hide pack with the fer still intact. The packs were reissued to the 8th USCT. On the inside flap is written Ezra Brooks 8th Inf. USCT.

I was wondering if there are any early war photos of the Chasseur Units with these packs. I know they took photos in the uniforms before getting rid of them but i have not seen any photos of the knapsacks. Or even better but unlikely any pictures of the 8th USCT with these packs.

    Thanks

    Marvin:
Check out the December 2009 edition of the Civil War Times. There's an article titled "Feathered Warriors" on artifacts of the 83rd PA from the
collection of Theodore J. Karle. There's a few images of Soldiers in their chasseur uniforms and a leather shako but no knapsacks.
