Big Shanty Festival LH Apr. 17-18

The Kennesaw Civil War and Locomotive Museum has asked Co. G 10th Texas to once again help them by participating in a living history in conjunction with the City of Kennesaw's Big Shanty Festival. We have been a part of this, at the Museum's request, for a couple of years.

The 10th will be coordinating the Confederate Infantry side of things (There will be some Critters there holding down the Cavalry). Not sure who the Musuem has doing Federal but I am sure they would also appreciate help there. It is a great chance to interact with the Public and to support a great museum. Anyone interested in coming please contact me at trippcor@bellsouth.net.

I forgot to add we will be using the 10th Texas Guidelines. You will find those at http://members.aol.com/SMckay1234/Li.../guideline.htm . Also we will be issuing rations so I need to know who is coming fairly soon. The Musuem will be providing dinner saturday night. This will be a fairly loose event so folks should have some time to sneek over to Kennesaw Battlefield for a visit as well. Kennesaw has recently built a new VC. Though I have never been there, I hear it is nice.

This might also give some folks an oppertunity to visit Pickett's Mill before the big event and see the terrain we will be covering and fighting over.

Lastly I have been informed the 125th Ohio will be handling the Federal side for this event. While they are more a mainstream unit than progressive, they are some good guys. We have worked with them at past events and have enjoyed it.
