    Nose bags

Need some help. What was the proper design for horse feed bags? When did the leather section with breathe holes first appear?
    Thanks.

    Gary,
Long time no see. I assume you are asking about Fed. nose bags correct? If so, you can find the design specs in the ordnance manual. The leather butterfly shaped patch with the air holes is solidly postwar, but I don't have a date on when they were first produced.

    Take care,
