Some flyers about duties of markers

I prepared some flyers several years ago for a seminar where I taught about the duties of company markers in forming parade. I finally got around to posting the articles online. The four articles are :

The Color Company and Second Company Set the Line : http://draytons.tripod.com/drill/settingtheline.pdf

Forming the Right Wing : http://draytons.tripod.com/drill/rightwingforms.pdf

Forming the Left Wing : http://draytons.tripod.com/drill/leftwingforms.pdf and,

The Worthless Second Sergeant : http://draytons.tripod.com/drill/wor...ndsergeant.pdf

Not too many words. Mostly illustrations. Four total pages. The flyers are designed for reenactors who don't care to read the fine print found in manuals.

Good stuff for visual learners Mark. Of course, there's nothing like actually getting to do it for the sake of the kinesthetic learners though. I appreciate your efforts at making this as well as posting it here because Lord knows I need a brush up, and I've got two new young recruits who need to learn.

I've added the above four handouts to my links page and included my lengthy article on opening and closing ranks for parade. Here is the link : http://draytons.tripod.com/drill/parade.pdf The article is a step by step analysis on what is going on, how to perform it and why. It is copiously illustrated as people seem to like pictures more than text.

These are great. Now there is really no excuse as a company officer or company guide (nco) to NOT know what you are doing when forming a battalion.
