    Several Items For Sale

I am selling a few items that I don’t need any more. All of these items are top quality (except maybe the McClellan, because I am not sure who made it). Please send me an email at christopherdelew@yahoo.com if you are interested in an item or have any questions or want more pictures. I will accept PayPal and checks. I do not accept money orders.

    1. Confederate Sword Belt: made by Brad Malone, brown leather with GA frame buckle. This is a beautiful belt. I have a 36-37 inch waist and it can be adjusted larger or shorter, beautiful belt worn at two events: $70
    2. Confederate sling snap hook with bridle bit made by Paul Muller (you can see a picture of this item on Ken's website) new, never used : $20
    3. Confederate Pistol Holster: made by Brad Malone, brand new and never used, looks like the revolver holster (English Pattern) in Echoes of Glory on page 207. The original that these are copied from is at the South Carolina Relic Room and also belonged to Pvt. Robert Johnson, of Hampton’s Legion. Iron dyed leather with cod oil finish. This holster is complete with English ball bag finials, cast by Hanover Brass: $75
    4. Confederate Sword Belt: brand new and made by Jesse Baily, copied from the buff leather English sword belt in Echoes of Glory on page 206: $75
    5. Confederate/Civilian Trousers: I bought these off the forum about a year ago. I have never worn them and they look like they were never worn. They are made of a fine brown jean with hand-sewn outside details, size 37-38 inch waist: $80
    6. McClellan Saddle: I bought this saddle used as a starter saddle, but now I have no need for it. This saddle could use some repairs. The tree and rawhide cover have a couple of small cracks. One of the stirrups is cracked as well. I still ride this saddle and it works just fine without any repairs. It would be a good saddle for someone that wants to ride Federal, and just wants a cheap, useable saddle, starter saddle, or a loaner saddle; but you can always fix it up as well: $200
    7. Period English Saddle: The saddle is in good condition. It has a couple of small tears in the padding, which have been repaired, but could be repaired further. It does not come with stirrup leathers, stirrups, or a girth: $125
    8. Period saddle: This is an old plantation/wagon saddle which needs repairs. The tree is solid. It would be a good project saddle: $80

    Thanks,
    Christopher Delew

    [HOUSTON] TRI-WEEKLY TELEGRAPH, October 28, 1863,

    Wanted.

All ladies in Houston and surrounding counties who have cloth on hand, which they can spare, are requested to donate it to the ladies of Crockett for the purpose of making petticoats for the Minute Men of this county, who have "backed out" of the service. We think the petticoat more suitable for them in these times.

    Re: Several Items For Sale

    Trousers are sold.

Dan- yes I have found some good ones on ebay. I was going to fix this English saddle up, but I found a good period Sommerset saddle shortly after I bought this other one. I rode the Sommerset at Shiloh, and it also needs some repairs, so I need to let these others in my collection go. Plus I am getting a new saddle made.

More saddle information: The English saddle needs some repairs to the lining on the bottom. The person that I bought this from made these repairs with some black adhesive tape, but it would not take much to correctly repair. Otherwise, if you add some stirrup leathers, stirrups, and girth; it is ready to go. The seat measures 16 inches from pommel to cantle on this saddle.

The plantation/wagon saddle needs some more repairs, but has original stirrup leathers. However, these stirrups look like Buena Vista stirrups. The tree seems solid though, and measures 15.5 inches from pommel to cantle.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
